Music Day
If I can create a new festival, I will create Music Day. It is celebrated on the twenty-fifth of June because the pop singer Michael Jackson was dead on this day. Michael Jackson was a famous singer, songwriter, dancer, actor… so people called him the king of Pop.
On this day, students can wear casual clothes to school in the morning. They only play music at school so their parents need to hide the phone. In the afternoon, their parents will decorate their homes with tinsels or ornaments to make their home like a stage. They will also invite their friends to their homes.
There is a musical performance and competition too. All the primary schools will choose a team to compete with other school. The winners will have a medal. If you like dancing or singing, it’s your time to perform and show off. You can go to school before 9am so you won’t be late for school. Everyone will be estatic on that day.

Pillow Festival
Pillow Festival is celebrated on 31st December. The meaning of the festival is to let people have fun and ease their pressure and sadness after a boring and upset year.
At this festival, people can play with pillows with their friends or their families. They throw the pillows at one another. They are suggested to wear sportswears or pajamas. Wearing them would be more convenient.
Besides, parents take their children to Victoria Park to have the pillow fight because it is spacious. The Victoria Park will be decorated with stars, balloons, carpets and banners. We will also eat a cake called ‘Happy cake’. This cake is made of flowers, eggs, cream and strawberries. This cake has a happy face on it. After eating the cake, people will be very happy.
This festival is funny. I think everyone will love it.

Relaxing Day
Relaxing Day is celebrated on the thirty-first of December since it is at the end of a year. It is celebrated because it is too busy in all the year round so we need a day to relax. On that day, most of people would have a holiday.
On the Relaxing Day, everyone would sleep late. They would stay at home or go to the park and play some fun games. At night, they would go to flower markets because the Lunar New Year is coming. The firework display would be watched too since the next year would come.
On that day, we eat something that don’t need to cook or easy to cook like instant noodles or fruit. Pajamas are worn since pajamas mean comfortable and free. We would also use some green things and the shapes of moon and stars to decorate our homes and different places. Green can make our eyes feeling more comfortable. And moon and stars mean midnight.
I think people will like this festival because they can have a real rest.

World Peace Day
World Peace Day is a worldside festival. It’s on the tenth of December because it is the death of Nobel. Nobel believed in racifism. He strongly opposed wars so I propose this festival.
At this festival, all people wear blue and green clothes because they mean peace and people will play games about the theme of peace at the fun fair. People will also decorate places with some pictures about pigeons. At this festival, people eat vegetables. They don’t eat meat because eating meat will kill more animals and is not environmental friendly.
I hope people will like my festival.

Hiking Festival
Hiking Festival is celebrated from 3rd to 10th April because these days are warm. It is good for hiking. We celebrate this festival at all the hills such as Tai Mo Shan or Fei Ngo Shan….
Why do I create this festival? It is because nowadays, many young people always play games with the phones. And the elderly need to do more exercise to stay healthy. Also, families can maintain a good relationship by going hiking together. People wear green clothes which means to stay healthy. They wear red hats which means to love our Earth. At this festival, people go hiking and camping. They only eat vegetables or fruit on that day.
People also decorate the hills with banners with the words ‘I love the Earth!’ on them.
Chinese New Year by Abby Mong
Today I would like to introduce a special festival---Chinese New Year. It is celebrated in spring.
Long time ago, a monster came down to a village and ate the villagers. The villagers fired the firecrackers to scare the monster away. Nowadays it is a big day for Chinese families gathering together.
Usually people make rice cakes, turnip cakes, toro cakes and sweet rice balls before Chinese New Year to share with their families and relatives.
Furthermore, they will do a lot of things to celebrate. Homes are cleaned and decorated. Good luck flowers are sold in many parks. Lion dances are performed and fireworks are fired. Relatives are visited to share their joy. Children are given lucky money too. I think the Chinese New Year is a great festival.

Today I would like to introduce a special festival---Halloween. It is celebrated on 31st October every year.
Long time ago, people believed that witches gathered
together and ghosts roamed the world on that day.
At Halloween, Halloween marshmallow and many sweets are eaten. On that day children can do ‘ Trick or treat’ and people decorate their homes with pumpkins too.
Dragon Boat Festival by Angel Lin
Today I would like to introduce a special festival---Dragon Boat Festival. It is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month of Chinese lunar calendar.
It is celebrated Qu Yuan who was drowned on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month in 277 B.C. Chinese threw bamboo leaves filled with cooked rice into the water. They
hoped the fish would eat the rice. Nowadays, it became the customs of eating rice.
Dumplings are eaten. People race boat racing during Dragon Boat Festival.

The Sweet festival
The sweet festival is on 2nd February. Once upon a time there was a kingdom, the children in the kingdom liked sweets very much but in the mean time sweets were very expensive, some poor family could not buy it. A poor child loved sweets very much so he prayed to God that he wanted to eat sweets. After a few days, there was sweet rain. The children got sweets from the sky.
The meaning of the festival is making children happy so people give children sweets. Children can eat sweets all day. They wear clothes with some patterns of sweets.
On this day, some people put a lot of sweets on a plane and open it, so the sweets will come down from the sky. People also put candy sticks outside their houses to decorate and celebrate this festival.
If someone was born on this day, he/she will be the candy prince or princess, when they grow up they will have a lot of sweets for free.

Ice Fight Day
The Ice Fight Day is celebrated on 20th June. Long time ago, there was a dragon called Ice Dragon. The Ice Dragon could spray ice and made anything to become ice. Ice Dragon helped Hong Kong people to kill the monsters who hurt people. Hong Kong people wanted to remember Ice Dragon so they celebrated Ice Fight Day.
On Ice Fight Day, dragon models are bought by people for children. ‘Dragon’ means good luck and love. People eat ice and a lot of cold food. People eat ice because it represents Ice Dragon who can spray ice and can remember Ice Dragon.
On Ice Fight Day, people wear white or gray clothes. White and gray mean Ice Dragon. From nine o’clock to four o’clock, people throw ice and water at one anther on the street. They put ice and water on the floor. It can wash the bad luck away and bring you good luck!

Green Festival
Green Festival is on 1st September. This day reminds us to save our resources and protect our environment.
Parents take their children to school to plant trees. Presents are given to the children. Children also take some seeds back home and plant them.
At the festival, green vegetables are eaten because it is good for our health. Green clothes are worn at this festival. We wear it since it can remind people to protect our environment. We do not use plastic bags to buy food. We all bring our own bags. We use recycled cans or bottles to decorate different places. This is a joyful and meaningful festival.
